It is important that Alexandria take advantage of technologies that are now emerging into the civilian sector. Our initial discussions with Xerox Corporation (Letter of Support F) indicate that there are significant potential benefits to be derived from the participation of this company, and others in similar positions, in the project. Xerox can provide access to high- performance technology for capturing, storing, transmitting, and displaying large volume map and image data sets. We anticipate that Xerox will also contribute to cost sharing once its role has been better defined.
