My game is based off of a fan-made, live-action movie clip of the Street Fighter franchise. The original game is a two-dimensional fighting game where players battle each other one-on-one. In my concept of the game, I retain the two-dimensional aspect, but contribute a role-playing concept to the game. MORE... The game opens with the fan-made movie clip, Street Fighter: Legacy. After the game ends, the player starts off as Ryu, the protagonist of the franchise and of the movie clip. The tone of the game is similar to the tone of the movie-clip. The characters and settings are slightly undersaturated in order to retain the life-like feel and environment of the clip, and sound effects from the game are added to give the characters more life. After the opening clip, the game begins where the clip ends, with Ryu in the forest sparring with his friend, Ken. The player must begin the game by speaking with Ken and accepting the quest. After accepting the quest, Ryu gains the Hadouken item equip. After equipping it, Ryu can perform his signature Hadouken technique, and continue his fight with Ken. The quests in this game are very basic 'defeat the opponent' quest. Nevertheless, the primary focus of the game is to bring the movie clip to a new level of interaction. The movie clip was made as an idea to provide an interactive fighting game with more of an entertainment narrative. However, my game is made as way to try and combine the idea of interactive fighting with an involving narrative. Not only can the player fight as Ryu, but the player ultimately contributes in Ryu's growth by controlling his movements and interacting with the games' environment. << BACK |
